Jessica’s Registry Must Haves…

Making a baby registry was one of my favorite milestones during the adoption process. I created my registry before we officially entered the adoption pool, and when I was feeling particularly anxious, I would modify and add to it. It gave me a sense of control throughout the process. Since Everett was my third, I had a lot of baby gear saved from the previous two. I knew Everett would be my last, so I wanted to try the cool gear and gadgets that I didn’t get around to last time.  I created my registry on Babylist. I found it the most convenient way for friends and family to view and purchase items.

Here are my top picks:

SNOO Sleeper

This was a must have for us. At first, I was turned off by the hefty price tag, but for the sound sleep I got the first three months made it worth twice as much. The only downside is that I have a long baby. He outgrew the SNOO by 4 months old. Babies are used to jostling in the womb and the SNOO mimics that movement.

Happiest Baby Swaddle/Sleep Sack

This is a very versatile sleep sack. It allows you to tuck your baby’s arms until the startle reflex subsides. The shoulders unzip to allow arms to pop out, when your baby is ready for free arm sleeping. It’s also extremely breathable.

Owlet Duo

Three words; Peace.of.mind. My son was in the NICU for three weeks. He was monitored 24/7. I was so nervous to bring him home without being able to monitor his heart rate and oxygen saturation. Unlike other monitors I’ve tried, no false alarms.

Dino Play Gym

This gym is lightweight and easy to move around. My son loved it from the day he came home from the hospital and still plays with it daily. I love the dinos and the bright colors. The wood finishes add a touch of style.

Earth Mama Diaper Balm

In the NICU, my son had horrible diaper rash. None of the prescription strength creams worked. This cleared up the rash within 36 hours. Smells great and no harmful chemicals.

Oregon Teether

As a native Oregonian, I love this. The beads come in several color combinations.

Natursutten Pacifier

All natural rubber. I like that its all one piece, no chance of the nipple coming loose and becoming a choking hazard.

Fawn Design Diaper Bag

Vegan leather and spacious. Plenty of room for all of my baby supplies as well as stylish enough to act as my purse as well. I love this bag for traveling with kids

Bum Genius All-in-one cloth diaper

All-in-ones are great for the busy cloth diaper mama. No extra part and pieces.

BOB jogging stroller

I’ve tried several high end strollers and I always come back to my BOB. I’m still using my BOB from 2011. Its perfect for running, hiking, and even the farmer’s market. They revamped the bottom basket to hold more. Don’t forget to add the handle bar drink holder to your registry as well.

K’tan

The K’tan is my favorite wrap. Instead of being one long piece of fabric. Its 2 smaller and easy to work with pieces. Check out YouTube for the different carrying options. Perfect for the newborn stage.

Ergo 360

I used my original Ergo with my first two babies, but Everett demanded to see the world. Since purchasing the Ergo 360, baby wearing has become a lot more common in our home. The Ergo 360, is comfortable and is the only structured baby carrier that didn’t hurt my shoulders.

Bjorn Bouncer

This is an item I considered purchasing with all three of my kids. It wasn’t until Everett came into our lives that I finally decided to make the purchase. Its sleek, lightweight, and stylish. In the spring, we take it outdoors.
